In Sept. 2002, Anil invited the U of I gang to NY to attend the US Open 2002! I flew in from Los Angeles, CA, Swaroop from Champaign, IL, Amit and Mela from Sunnyvale, CA, and Kaladhar from Chandler, AZ to join Anil and Madhu for the US Open action. Unfortunately, rain forced the cancellation of the matches we attended, but it was still well worth the trip to reunite with the old U of I gang. After we left, Sampras came back after an otherwise horrible year to win his 14th Grand Slam title!
