Offroading in Death Valley

On our way back to civilization, Amit and Mela went hiking while AC, Swaroop, and I hit an offroad trail in the Landcruiser. We traversed part of Twenty Mule Team Canyon in Furnace Creek- the very same trail used to transport Borax out of Death Valley in the late 1800's. The beginning of the trail was fairly sandy and easy to travel, but it soon became a very rough and rocky trail suitable only for high-clearance 4WDs. Thanks to great spotting by AC and Swaroop, we made it almost 20 miles into the trail and back without a scratch. The scenery was fantastic and we even saw a few petroglyphs along the canyon walls.
