I went home for the holidays from 12/17/04 to 105! It was interesting to visit Fairbanks again after almost 2 years away- it has definitely grown! Walmart has moved into town, along with Lowe's, Home Depot, and several large hotels and restaurants. There was a fireworks show at UAF on New Years Eve- people packed the streets, most watching from the warmth of their cars as it was quite cold out! It was too cold for my much-anticipated snowboarding trip, as the temperatures dipped to 39 below and it stayed cold for the rest of my stay!
